CONFESSION

1 John 1:9—If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

"If" is a conditional word that implies a need for action. "Is" renders a present ongoing truth (faithful and just) of our immutable God. "Will" is the promised action guaranteeing forgiveness and purification to all who confess. So when was the last time someone asked you the hard questions: 1. Is there sin you are hiding from God that is eating you alive inside? 2. Are you engaged in activity that you know to be wrong? 3.. Is your conscience clear before Your Father who sees all things? 4. Are you clean in Your Father’s eyes?

There is great release in confession. Tears that fall from shame and sorrow become the very agent God can take and wipe us clean. Don’t go another day in sin, confess and believe that God’s grace is bigger than your sins.
