DESPAIR

Isaiah 61:3—. . . to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.

If life’s earthen dam has been breached and you feel flooded with no way to escape the relentless water, take heart. It is when we reach our lowest point; exhaust all our human means of gaining relief that we are ready to receive what God in His infinite love, desires to give us. His salvation is our solution. Let your despair be His repair.

Inspiration

When we get to despair we know that all our thinking will never get us out; we will only get out by the sheer creative effort of God, consequently we are in the right attitude to receive from God that which we cannot gain for ourselves.—Oswald Chambers in Baffled to Fight Better
