JESUS CHRIST

Matthew 2:1,2—After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.

It seems rather preposterous! What rational, intelligent men would climb aboard camels loaded with gifts and trek for who knows how long to worship an unknown king simply because a special star was spotted in the sky? They came from the east to Jerusalem in faith and caused quite a commotion with their heartfelt question, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?” Their faith was rewarded. Their journey was not in vain. They were afforded the privilege of bowing before Baby God—the Creator of the Universe who willingly chose to become like us. How fitting that a star should herald His arrival.

We need no star today. God in His infinite wisdom chose to make those who would follow His Son, light to a darkened world. The proof that Jesus is God’s Son, the greatest Man who ever lived on earth is demonstrated in the lives of those changed by the Savior. Our globe is continuously punctuated by shining disciples who offer themselves as living sacrifices—gifts worth more to God than gold, incense and myrrh. We become lights as we surrender our hearts to Jesus and worship Him who alone gives peace to replace turmoil, hope to erase despair, love to eliminate emptiness and faith to live beyond death. So let your light shine! Forget about those tiny bulbs wrapped around your Christmas tree. Your bulb is far more important for all the world to see! IF you will let the Son influence you, your luminescence will be inspirational! Merry Christmas and may God’s blessings be upon you this season and forever.
