Drafting is such an amazing art. I find it fascinating how engineers depict buildings and objects through the skillful drawing of lines and shading areas. Did you know that perspective is defined in the American Heritage Dictionary as: “The technique of representing three-dimensional objects and depth relationships on a two-dimensional surface.”
Could it be that spiritual perspective is the technique of representing an invisible God and the depth relationship of His attributes on the sin-flattened plain of mortal earth? When we love our enemies we reveal God! When we demonstrate patience through adversity our lives portray a supernatural dimension. The linear two-dimensioned relationship between humans becomes a three-dimensional triangle when God is involved.
Perspective also means “A mental view or outlook.” When adversity comes, I want to know Jesus Who weathered hostility and was murdered. When temptation raises its stormy head I want to know Christ Who Himself suffered through temptation (Hebrews
O God, stoke the passion to know You! Replace the selfish lens that see only me and cover them with Songlasses, those glorious lens that reveal You, the epitome of AWESOME!
