WORSHIP

Romans 12:1—Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

May I invite you to stop what you are doing. Beside you sits a beautifully crafted silver case. Open it and choose four from among the golden tent pegs of love, reverence, faith, obedience, holiness, joy, peace, hope . . . Take these pegs and fasten to the ground you occupy, the royal purple tent of worship you have just unfolded. Now in the holy hush of anticipation you might consider sharing the following words with your Heavenly Father who loves you and takes incredible joy in your heartfelt offering:

I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like You.

I worship You, O Prince of Peace, that is what I want to do.

I give You praise, for You are my righteousness.

I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like You.

Inspiration

Worship is giving God the best that He has given you . . . The measure of the worth of our public activity for God is the private profound communion we have with Him. Rush is wrong every time, there is always plenty of time to worship God. Quiet days with God may be a snare. We have to pitch our tents where we shall always have quiet times with God, however noisy our times with the world may be. There are not three stages in spiritual life--worship, waiting and work.—Oswald Chambers in My Utmost For His Highest
