WARRANTY

Kaching, kaching can you hear the sound of cash registers ringing up sales like there was no tomorrow? Personally, I’m in the market for two sliding glass doors. Our doors have broken seals, a locking mechanism that no longer works and twenty plus years of wear and abuse. It doesn’t help that Bear and Dusty, our two big dogs, think that jumping against and scratching the glass will earn them a trip inside. I wish you could see Bear working his pink and black-splotched tongue up and down the rubber edging trying to lick his way in. The pools outside the door aren’t from rain!

Before we purchase Viking or Millguard vinyl doors, we want to make sure that we get the best product for the cost and that means examining the warranty. A warranty is a guarantee given to the purchaser by a company stating that the product is reliable, without defect and that the seller will repair or replace defective parts within a given time limit and under specified conditions without charge. But warranty also has another meaning—justification or valid grounds for an act or a course of action.

Meditation

Ephesians 1:13,14—And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, Who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of His glory.

Did you know that your belief in Christ places you under warranty? Just read the print in Eph. 1:13, 14 and 2 Corinthians 1:22 and 5:5. God gives us a Manufacturer’s Guarantee! Our inheritance (eternal life with God) is assured by the Holy Spirit when we go before God to be judged. He promises to pardon our sin and to give us new, sin-free bodies. Best of all, we enjoy His awesome presence forever.

The foundation of God’s warranty is GRACE! Knowing this evokes two responses in me. First, I fall on my knees and thank God for sending Jesus to save me! Second, I want to tell others how they can obtain an eternal warranty. Whenever I buy a good product that comes with a reliable guarantee I am inclined to tell others so they can experience the same good deal. I imagine you probably do the same. Folks, we are the products! If we don’t tell others what Jesus has done in and for us something is horribly wrong! We all need heaven’s Warranty or sin will corrode us right into that eternal discard pile where God never visits and pain is unrelenting.
