Wednesday night a saint fell. My special friend, Georgia Drake, tripped and broke her femur despite the presence of a steel rod and an artificial hip. Osteoporoses leaves her susceptible to serious injury. Arthritis has turned her race into a daily battle with affliction. If her strength resided in her Greek ancestral roots even her gutsy spirit would cave in to the merciless attacks of pain. But her hope is in Jesus. Not even a hospital bed can rob her of the power to walk and not be faint. Her gait is not measured by gravity because her soul is not tethered to dirt. She soars where eagles can only dream of flying. She’s a remarkable woman who wears the robe of grace.
Do you know how wonderful it is to hope? Life for the follower of Christ, is a journey in joy. Do accidents occur? Certainly! Do we always get what we want? No! Can life be unfair? Yes! So what! "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38,39)
